I enjoy being involved with an institution that I use regularly, that is so foundational to our community, and that is used by just about everyone I know. I am also very impressed with the passion, dedication, knowledge and teamwork of the library staff and management.
What is your favorite service that NPL provides?
I really appreciate the diversity of the offerings that are provided in our libraries. I also love the fact that our three libraries all have a very different look and feel. The Naper Blvd. Library has that local, neighborhood feel.....a little smaller, you feel like you know everyone there. The 95th St. Library has a contemporary, almost urban feel to it....lots of natural light, very open, feels hip and crisp. The Nichols Library has that more traditional, large library feel inside.... always busy and yet always very quiet.
What are you reading now?
Reading now:
- Sway, by Brofman
- The Political Mind, by Lakoff
- The Big Short, by Michael Lewis
- Death by Meeting, by Lencioni
- River of Time, by Jon Swain
- The Best and Brightest, by Halberstam
- Heaven is a Playground, by Telander
- Rant, by Dennis Miller
Why should people use the Naperville Public Library?
It's a bit of a cliche, but the library can open up our world and our minds. Our library has an excellent selection, a diversity of materials and technology, and delivers it all in a very efficient yet friendly manner.

My favorite service is access to eAudiobooks. I continually share how eAudiobooks are a must when driving distances (have you ever driven to Springfield). I promote the ease of downloading books at the Library, the classes offered to learn more about this service, and the great selection of eAudiobooks.

She has 25 years of experience in developing and supporting computer applications and systems and has held Information Systems positions at different firms including Sears, Roebuck and Company. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and biology from Northern Illinois University. What is your favorite thing about serving on the Library Board of Trustees?
I am honored to be a Trustee and support such an outstanding institution. I have loved the library since I was a young child, and it continues to be one of my favorite places to spend time.
What is your favorite service that NPL provides?
My favorite service about our library is the online catalog and library website that is available 24 hours a day. I can read or hear about a book, article, music artist, etc., and I can immediately log into the library website, find out if the library has what I am looking for (which it usually does), and then either add it to one of my Lists to checkout in the future, or place a hold on the item if I want it soon.
What is your favorite book?
I have many books that I consider favorites, but a book I finished recently that I really enjoyed is Touching history: the Untold Story of the Drama that Unfolded in the Skies over America on 9/11 by Lynn Spencer. I typically read fiction, but this book was recommended by my Dad who used to be a pilot in the Air Force, and this book has an interesting perspective about the day that changed our country forever.
Why should people come to the Naperville Public Library?
I love how you are physically surrounded by so much information. When I go into the stacks to look for a fiction or nonfiction book, I can’t help but find other items that interest me, that I never would have found otherwise. One recent discovery was piano books. I play the piano (only for myself) and how wonderful to find new books with songs by some of my favorite artists
